Hi, I’m Hailey

Hello, I’m Hailey- A whole human on the other side of this website who is full to the brim with curiosity and a love of life.

My death work can probably be traced back to my “adopt a grandparent” days at a local nursing home when I was in middle school. But more recently I credit “plant medicine land” with my shift into this work.

In 2019 I was working in plant medicine spaces where I noticed many people were seeking out these modalities to help them navigate grief. Simultaneously myself, and others, were having experiences here that felt like they had died or removed their fears of death. I was volunteering with hospice and saw more and more similarities between these altered states of consciousness.

This piqued my interest and set me on a new path. I closed my little restaurant and went back to school while simultaneously enrolling in death doula trainings and learning about various other healing modalities. I ended up with a BA in religious studies with minors in social work and psychology. The bus did not stop there, I am now enrolled in a Masters of Science program in Thanatology through Edgewood University. Thanatology is the interdisciplinary study of death, dying, and grief. I am thrilled to be able to further my education to better support my clients and community.

Outside of my studies, I support clients in life, death, & grief, work part time for a hospice organization as the volunteer coordinator, am a member of the Death Collective of Eastern Iowa, host death-y events and spend lots of time enjoying life with my husband and our dogs!
